Well happy Tuesday to you! Apologies the blog has been a wee bit quiet the last week or so. Life's all go at the moment as the end of my photography course looms and coursework and final projects are under way, or at the very least are making me wakeup in the night with panic. Also, there's been lots of fashion on the itinerary due to the recent Gala Fashion Show by the new grads at Norwich University of the Arts . Yesterday I was incredibly honoured to go to London to see some of the creations head down the catwalk for Graduate Fashion Week. It was truly amazing and I'll tell you all about ASAP...
But in the meantime.......
To make up for my quietness (although I did tell you in the last post about a fab new vintage magazine, so hopefully that gave you some new reading material to keep you busy) I have some shoes to give away courtesy chatham.co.uk *blows kisses*
Today we’re going to look at a shoe style that’s a classic, but more than that it’s also the perfect vintage/retro shoe – especially if you’re currently feeling inspired by the fashions of the eighties and yes, I'm going to say it….. the nineties (It took me a while to accept the nineties are classed as vintage but now I’m kicking myself I didn’t keep my paisley shirts etc)
The shoe I’m showing some love to right now is the deck shoe. Yes, that shoe that you’ll see being worn by all ages because it really is one of those styles that spans the generations. You’ll see it being rocked by the preppy young twenty something as much as you will the sixty plus silver vixen.
I wrote about deck shoes back in 2012 when I was sent a pair from Chatham to review. They have become a wardrobe staple and they are still going strong. Seemingly impressed at my love for the deck shoe, Chatham feel it’s now the turn of one lucky Missy Vintage reader to own a pair of their very own and are offering you the chance to pick a pair up to the value of £100! Yes, that’s a pair of your choice, so you could go for deck shoes or something else from the Chatham range if another style catches your eye…..
My personal top picks from Chatham’s amazing deck shoe range are…
These remind me a little of bowling shoes, I’m thinking a high waisted pair of 40s style (or 70s if that’s your thing) wide leg jeans and a fitted top.
I *love* this coral and tan combo. I’d be quite tempted to go 50s classic preppy with these with a pair of tan capris and a crisp white shirt OR you could go 90s inspired and pair these with a paisley shirt and a pair of high-waisted denim cut offs which would be an amazing festival outfit, yes?
