Fashion Week: Taxidermy and Vintage Frocks

Norwich Fashion week continues to be all go, and whilst I'm not pounding the catwalk, I am pounding the pavements, whizzing to shows, shoots and styling sessions. Saturday morning found me in perhaps one of the the best 'offices' ever...........a castle! As part of Norwich Fashion week, Norwich Castle got seriously interactive!

So where did I fit in to this? Well, I was in a room surrounding by stuffed birds, styling models 'live' in front of the public. When I say 'styling' I mean the whole thing, due to a few hiccups along the way I ended up not only styling the hair and makeup, but also the wardrobe too. All of which is from my own collection by the way, and all the dresses you see in these pictures all cost £6 or under. Which one is your fave?

More behind the scenes

With a pretty broad brief of 'kooky' and the shoot taking place in a room full of stuffed birds of all shapes and sizes, I decided to take inspiration from those birds in their display cases and soon Hitchcock sprang to mind, so I set about creating some big hair with two ladies having up dos and the other two having full on texture in a 'the birds got us' kind of way.

The whole photoshoot was styled in this room in front of the public, from start to finish, hair, makeup, picking the clothes, and the actual photoshoot itself. Which I think (and hope) made for a really interesting feature for the day, and once I got into it, I forgot that people were watching coming and going.

The four photographers and the models on the day coped exceptionally well, as there's always lots of hanging around on photoshoots, but you don't normally need to do it in front of the paying public!

More official pictures to come but here's a taster  from Ace photographer Adrian Farr. Do take a look at his Facebook page to see his general photography awesomeness.

I'm so pleased how this shoot came together. I'm having an amazing fashion week and there are still a few days left to go yet! More updates soon.
