Vintage Norwich Awards 2012

Vintage Norwich celebrated it's first birthday in style, not just a party to celebrate but an awards bash. For several weeks Norwich has been buzzing with excitement to see just who would be announced the official winners of 2012. We're very lucky in Norwich that vintage is a thriving sub culture. I'm not quite Norwich born and bred but almost, having lived here nearly all my life. So yes I am proud that Norwich is such an interesting place to live and for years I've been happy to tell people why they should come to Norwich/Norfolk. It was a super evening and the pictures will speak for themselves I'm sure!

I wore a Stop Staring dress from Stop Traffic Clothing, I was too busy photographing everyone else to do an outfit shot of it but here I am with Vintage Norwich Editor Gemma and fellow writer Lucy.

I think it may be the ultimate little black dress with a twist! It was absolutely gorgeous to wear, I'm not shy about being seen at various events and nights out in the same dress so expect to see this number A LOT! Do you think it's too merry widow for a July wedding? I'm visualising it with some fabulous head wear......... too much?

So back to the evening, we were lucky that the rain held off so people arrived looking glam, fab and in good spirits. The event was organised by Blue Skies Vintage Events and they did a fabulous job. For one night only there was a Vintage Norwich cocktail, but I'm afraid I can't tell you what was in it. Not because it's a secret, I just didn't get to try one! I was meeting and greeting on the door with Lucy and a gin and tonic, then the next drink I had was after the awards at which point everyone switched to fizz. (The cheap stuff for me sadly but still fizzily delicious) You can see a list of the winners over on the Vintage Norwich website.

I've a few more pictures to edit, sadly my laptop and a cup of coffee decided to not be friends and had a bit of a scrap, so I will get the others ready as soon as I can but in the mean time here's some of the beautiful people of Norwich looking pretty amazing. Can I also say a HUGE thank you to those got snapped. My style of photography is rather candid which does mean that I can be sneaky with lightening speed so thanks you all for being such good sports and so stunning/interesting to photograph!

Life is pretty busy at the moment and I'm really giving some thought into how I want to develop my writing, my blog and how best to use my qualifications in hairdressing and photography, so the rest of 2012 is set to be busy and exciting and you'll be kept up to date on all my adventures, but I'm happy to report that I'm going to keep working with Vintage Norwich for the next year. I'm keen to help get Norwich on the map for it's brilliant vintage scene and as I've lived in Norwich for almost forever, take my word for it that it's a great city and come for a visit!
